Qurbani Project 2024: Sharing the Blessings of Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha is a time of faith, generosity, sacrifice, and compassion. The Qurbani tradition reminds us of the importance of sharing our blessings and supporting people experiencing hardship. In Yemen, many vulnerable families face financial difficulties and food insecurity that make it challenging to obtain meat for their Eid meals.
The Qurbani Project 2024 aimed to support disadvantaged families by helping provide sacrificial meat during Eid al-Adha. Through this humanitarian initiative, the project sought to ease food-related hardship, bring joy to families, and strengthen the values of solidarity and social responsibility.
Project Objectives
- Support vulnerable families: Help low-income households and families facing hardship access Qurbani meat during Eid.
- Improve food access: Provide eligible families with an additional source of nutritious food for their Eid meals.
- Share the joy of Eid: Help families experiencing difficult circumstances participate in the celebration with dignity.
- Promote solidarity: Encourage generosity, compassion, and cooperation between donors and communities in need.
- Prioritize the most vulnerable: Direct assistance according to beneficiary needs and the project's eligibility criteria.
Target Beneficiaries
The project focused on vulnerable households in Yemen, including low-income families, displaced people, orphans, widows, and others facing food insecurity or limited income. Beneficiary selection was intended to prioritize families with the greatest needs.
Project Implementation
1. Identifying Beneficiaries
Identifying eligible households according to clear criteria helps direct assistance toward those who need it most and supports a fair distribution process.
2. Preparing Qurbani Meat
Sacrificial animals should be selected and handled in accordance with applicable Islamic guidelines and relevant animal welfare, hygiene, and food-safety requirements.
3. Meat Distribution
Organized distribution helps ensure that eligible families can receive their meat portions respectfully and safely during the days of Eid al-Adha.
4. Monitoring and Accountability
Appropriate monitoring and feedback processes help assess the distribution activity, address concerns, and improve the planning of future humanitarian projects.
The Humanitarian Importance of Qurbani
For families who cannot regularly afford meat, receiving a Qurbani portion can make a meaningful difference during Eid. Beyond food assistance, the project represents compassion, shared responsibility, and the belief that every family deserves the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with dignity.
Working Together to Support Families
Donors, charitable organizations, and community partners play an important role in supporting humanitarian food initiatives. Their contributions can help vulnerable families access essential food and experience the generosity and solidarity associated with Eid al-Adha.
The Qurbani Project 2024 reflects the enduring values of giving and community support. By helping families in need, such initiatives contribute to a more compassionate society in which the blessings of Eid can be shared with those facing hardship.
